I really love smiling faces. A perfect smile can even transform a shy and unhappy person to the confident person they have always wanted to be.
Every day, I know I am one of the luckiest people in the world because I get to help people by doing something that makes them happier with themselves. My job is challenging and interesting, and I am always learning something inside the office and out. On top of that, I get to meet new, diverse, and interesting people all day long and form connections that last. I even get hugs from little ones and their parents.
I approach my practice and my patients the way I would like to be treated. I want our patients to feel comfortable, relaxed, safe, respected, and well cared for. My staff and I know our patients. I visit with each patient at every one of their visits. I want to make sure that no one feels like just a number in my office because they never are. My patients are valuable people in my life and make each day feel new. And the youthful enthusiasm of kids helps keep me young.
Education and Continuing Education
My academic experience includes:
- University of Connecticut, Master’s Degree and Certificate in Orthodontics
- University of CT Dental School, Adelphi University (BS and minor in English Literature)
I take joy in the fact that orthodontics is both an art and a science. I love combining the artist’s eye with a good bite to make a stunning smile. I love my profession and have always enjoyed continuing to learn more since I first became an orthodontist in 1999. Because of my role as a formally recognized Continuing Education (CE) provider for the State of California, I am able to actively offer CE classes to doctors. I also require my staff to undergo at least 12 to 15 hours of CE in addition to their certification requirements.
For seven years, I had the privilege of giving back directly to the next generation of orthodontic professionals at the University of California at San Francisco. I taught as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthodontics, and I served as the Director for Invisalign® and Damon® System curriculums.
I have spoken at regional and national orthodontics meetings, and I remain a member of the state and local alliances of:
- American Association of Orthodontists
- Redwood Empire Dental Association
- American Dental Association
Family and Free Time
Even though I grew up in Ridgefield, CT, I am originally a native of Auckland, New Zealand, so many of my favorite activities take place outside. One of the big reasons I settled in Santa Rosa, CA, is because of its wonderful weather where I get to enjoy swimming, road biking, and running. This location also gives me the perfect opportunity to participate in triathlons, mud runs, and road bike races events.
When I’m not exercising, I am eating something yummy that I have cooked/baked from scratch (hence the excessive exercising) and spending time with my friends, family, or my Weimaraner named Lili.
I am passionate about improving the health and well-being of my community through access to adequate affordable dental and orthodontic care.
I am active in local community organizations and my church, and I serve on the Board of Executives for a number of local non-profits. My group involvement includes Girls on the Run Sonoma County (Treasurer), Leadership Santa Rosa, Class 25, and Junior League.
The mission of my office is to ensure that we continually give back to the community. Each year, we participate in multiple community events including Kidspree and the Human Race. In 2009, our office founded makesomeonesmile.org, a local non-profit fundraising site devoted to raising money that helps local low-income children receive their necessary dental care.
Meet Our Team
Everyone who comes to the office of Victoria Lynskey DMD, MDS, Orthodontist is unique and deserves to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs and circumstances. Our experienced and talented orthodontist and team are committed to working with you and your family to create a stress-free, rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice in Santa Rosa, California. We are pleased to welcome you into our family.
As Dr. Victoria Lynskey’s New Patient Coordinator, I help new patients become acquainted with our office. I aid Dr. Victoria Lynskey during initial exams and also work with our existing patients to navigate the crazy world of dental and orthodontic insurance. I file all of their insurance claims to maximize their benefits, reducing their financial obstacles to treatment. I love getting to know the families in our office and always try my best to accommodate them in every way possible. A beautiful smile transforms our patients on many levels. Once they complete treatment, they are pleased with their appearance and it has such an impact on their self-confidence! I’m married and have one daughter with the love of my life. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
As an assistant, I am able to meet so many great people and improve their smiles through the excellent orthodontic care we provide. I love getting to know our patients and becoming a regular part of their lives. It’s so rewarding to see how happy they are when they look at their new smiles for the first time! I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children: Adrian, who is almost two years old, and Sophia, who is a toddler. They are so much fun and keep me very busy! I love cooking, baking, enjoying the outdoors, and cheering for the 49ers!
I enjoy getting to know our patients and their families while seeing the transformations of the beautiful smiles we create. I look forward to coming to the office every day because of the relationships I have formed with my coworkers. We all work together to provide the very best care possible for our patients. Making our patients happy and seeing them smile with confidence after treatment is complete are just two of my favorite things about my job! I love spending time with family; my three-year-old son is the biggest joy of my life. In my spare time, I enjoy Zumba and cheering on the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers!
As Dr. Victoria Lynskey’s Scheduling Coordinator, I answer questions, schedule appointments, and do whatever is necessary to make everything run smoothly. Whether you’re calling to schedule an appointment or walking into the office, you’ll be warmly greeted by me. My greatest joy working in orthodontics is seeing the transformation that take place with our patients. I love that my work allows me to watch these amazing transformations and meet great people. At home, I am a busy mom always on the go. I have one very active baby boy; everyone calls him my twin! In my free time I enjoy traveling, reading, and finding new hiking trails in Sonoma County.
I help throughout the entire office, making it easy for me to be anywhere I’m needed, and to help with anything that Dr. Lynskey needs. I love that we get to know each other and our patients on a personal level. I’m very thankful and appreciative that I am able to work every day with Dr. Lynskey, Jennifer, Jenny, Angel and Belinda. We are like a family, and I enjoy coming to work and seeing my co-workers because I know that we are going to have fun and laugh no matter how crazy the day is. I love to play soccer, hike, be at the lake or pool, the outdoors, and just being active. I also enjoy reading. I have one older brother with whom I am very close. I have a dog named Lola who I adore, and spending time with my family is what I enjoy doing the most!
