Diplomate American Board of Orthodontics

meet dr. lynskey

Hi there, I'm Dr. Victoria Lynskey and I feel so blessed to be an orthodontist. When I was a kid, I had spaces between my teeth and was embarrassed to smile. Braces changed my life, giving me the confidence to show my real personality.

A little bit about me, well I was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to the United States with my family in 1977. I grew up in Ridgefield, Ct with my parents and older brother. After attending Adelphi University in Garden City, NY where I received a Bachelor of Science degree, I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Connecticut. I continued on at UConn, completing a full-time orthodontic residency three years later, and receiving a Master's in Dental Science, all while cheering on our college basketball team; Go Huskies!

Always eager to learn, I often attend numerous continuing education courses each year to stay abreast of the latest trends and techniques in the field of orthodontics. Since 2005 I have taught at UCSF, and act as course director for the Invisalign & Damon technique curriculum. I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the only orthodontic specialty association recognized by the American Dental Association, as well as their affiliate state and local organizations. In addition, she has also published original articles and research material. Family obligations moved me to California after successfully running an orthodontic practice in Nashville, TN.

Outside of work, I like to spend time with friends and family. My little Lili keeps me active and outdoors...you'll often see us walking downtown or at Howarth Park. I spend free time swimming, biking and running; training for triathlons. Or reading, cooking or volunteering at my church.

I constantly strive to be a high-quality orthodontist that is truly approachable with an office atmosphere that is fun, yet professional.

patient care

Dr. Lynskey and her staff are committed to excellence, both personally and professionally. We are focused on being patient friendly, both in the personal relationships we form with our patients and their families, as well as with the orthodontic techniques we utilize. Dr. Lynskey and her team are highly trained in the most innovative treatment techniques and utilizing state of the art equipment to provide superior care and customer service.

Here's what “Sets Us Apart from the Rest”:

Excellence in Orthodontics: Dr Lynskey teaches at UCSF regularly, is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontists, and offers Continuing Education classes to her staff and local dentists.

Our Orthodontic Team: All of the clinical assistants are Registered Dental Assistants, requiring extensive training before treating patients. Both our administrative staff and clinical RDA’s are long-term employees that each undergo 4 hours of Continuing Education monthly to ensure that everyone is up-to-date in the latest orthodontic technology and services.

Cutting edge technology: Our office is technologically advanced; including digital photography, x-rays, digital models, and chartless patient records.

Damon/ Innovation-C Self-ligating Braces: Self-ligating braces allow teeth to move quicker, more comfortably, with better hygiene and esthetics, reducing overall appt times and treatment times.

Meticulous Safety Standards: Our patients can be assured that we follow all OSHA guidelines for sterilization techniques, and radiation safety. Additionally, we follow strict HIPPA and state guidelines regarding the safeguard of your personal information.

Invisalign Premier Provider: In addition to teaching Invisalign at UCSf, Dr Lynskey tests new products for Invisalign, such as Invisalign Teen. Dr Lynskey has been a Premier Provider since 2004.

Complimentary Retention Phase: All patients undergoing active orthodontics are seen for up to 18 months after treatment to ensure long-term results. Fixed, or permanent, orthodontic retainers maintain straight teeth and minimize the hassle of retainer loss or breakage. Patients are encouraged to DESIGN their OWN RETAINERS with pictures, logos, etc to show off your individualism.

Optimum treatment timing: This allows Dr. Lynskey to determine the best time to start treatment. Optimum treatment timing can decrease cost, time in braces, and reduces the risk of permanent tooth extraction.

Kids Club: If your child is not yet ready to begin treatment, they are invited to be a member of The Lynskey Lion Club while they are in the Pre-orthodontic Guidance Phase. Our Kids Club encourages children to improve their dental health before orthodontic treatment is necessary, advocating a lifetime of excellent oral health.

Accesibility:  Dr. Lynskey wants to be accessible to her patients at all times. If you have any orthodontic questions, please feel free to email her at: drlynskey@stunningsmile.com

Dr. Victoria Lynskey

Dr. Victoria LynskeyHi I’m Dr Lynskey and I feel very blessed to be an orthodontist! I absolutely love what I do and feel lucky every day to meet such interesting adults, great kids and families. Then we get to go on a journey, creating stunning smiles that will last a lifetime. What else could be better?

I began my orthodontic career in Nashville, TN working for a large multi-office group before relocating to California. For 4 years I managed a practice in Castro Valley before I chose to start my practice here in Santa Rosa. I selected Santa Rosa because of the wonderful weather, which is important since my favorite activities take place outside…swimming, biking and running.

I opened my Santa Rosa practice in 2003 and soon moved into our current office, filled with all the high-tech toys we orthodontists need for diagnosing and treating our patients. The staff and I, as well as our patients, have a lot of fun here and hope you have a wonderful experience as well. On a personal note, I spend time away from the office training for triathlons. I also enjoy cooking, hiking, and spending time with friends & family.

I am a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and their state and local alliances. In addition, I am active in local community organizations, including Treasurer of Girls on the Run Sonoma County and a member of Leadership Santa Rosa, Class 25. A mission of my office is to continually give back to this community with personal and office commitments. Each year we as an office participate in multiple community events…Kidspree and the Human Race to name just two. In 2009 our office founded makesomeonesmile.org, a local non-profit fundraising site devoted to raising money for local low-income children to receive necessary dental care. We’d love to have you join us in celebrating Sonoma County!

Trish, Treatment Coordinator:

Hi….my name is Trish and I am Dr. Lynskey’s Treatment Coordinator. Before joining Dr. Lynskey’s team, I worked in another orthodontic office in lake County for 10 years. My job duties include welcoming and educating New Patients and their families, as well as helping navigate the challenges of insurance benefits. We, as a team, like to think of this office as our home, and strive for you to feel like you are guests in our home. Coming to a doctor’s office for the first time can be overwhelming for some, so I make sure I am always there with a big smile to help you feel welcome.

In addition to my regular work in the office, along with Jillian, I coordinate our Continuing Education Seminars where we educate local dentists on current topics in dentistry and orthodontics. I also regularly answer frequently asked questions about insurance or finances or scheduling…anything related to the business side of your orthodontic care.

I'm originally from Illinois and moved here 16 years ago with my husband. We both were in the Army, stationed in North Carolina, before moving here in 1994. Shortly after arriving, I had our daughter, who is now 16! When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends watching races, sports, and having barbeques. I also enjoy traveling to new places and trying new things! Most recently I have taken up Roller Derby! I look forward to getting to know you.

I also plan the Continuing Education classes she offer to local dentists including CPR Recertifications as well as manage the non-profit that Dr Lynskey created, MakeSomeoneSmile.org, to give less fortunate children much needed dental care. In addition, I organize the behind-the-scenes patient/doctor relationships by updating our FaceBook site, manage our blog, and create & distribute our newsletters. I love networking and meeting new people so the friendly staff and patients at the office are great!
